SSC&E was founded in 2015 to supply bulk commodities across Southern Africa, and expanded into the Energy sector following the owner working as an executive at the largest private Oil Refinery in South Africa for a number of years.
Social & Environmental Responsibility
SSCE recognises the injustices of the past in South Africa and the damage caused to the environment by burning hydrocarbons.
To play our part in addressing these issues, we are benefactors of Summerhill House, an orphanage in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa, and we donate a portion of our profits each month towards tree planting initiatives across Africa.

Additionally, Sub Saharan Commodities is part of our group of companies, which supplies sustainably sourced timber and manufactures school desks throughout South Africa, with over 19,000 desktops supplied to school children in 2021 alone.

SSCE has strived hard to become a level 2 B-BEE supplier, and works closely with Saga Minerals, a Level 1, 100% Black Woman owed company.
